This is the highest category of virgin olive oil, meaning that it is the juice of fresh and healthy olives. To obtain this oil, the traditional oil extraction process using pressure is applied (the olives are placed in a press and the oil won by mechanical force). So all the properties of the oil remain the best preserved.<\/p>\n<p>The difference to the virgin olive oil is the quality of the olives, although the same method of extraction is maintained.<\/p>\n<p>If the label indicates \u201crefined olive oil\u201d it means that the product was recovered from chemical processes, whose oils are not suitable for direct human consumption. The refining process optimizes the oil but the characteristics of olive oil will be lost and there is a kind of vegetable fat.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, if it is marked as\u00a0<strong>\u201colive oil\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0only, it means that a minimum percentage of virgin oil is mixed into the refined oil and hence achieves at least an acceptable color and flavor for the consumer.
